As Shentel provides products and services to you using its cable TV system, we gather personally identifiable account information and technical information about the type and amount of products and services you use (your “Cable Information”) as well as anonymous, aggregated, and de-identifiable information, as described more fully in our Privacy Policy, which can be found at www.shentel.com/legal/privacy-policy. Shentel uses your Cable Information in connection with our provision of and billing for services, and to detect unauthorized use. Shentel may share or permit access to your Cable Information on a limited, as-needed basis with our trusted agents, vendors and contractors who assist us in serving you. These contractors and agents share Shentel’s obligation to protect your Cable Information. Shentel or its affiliates may also use your Cable Information for purposes of determining and offering additional products and services that may benefit you. Shentel will not sell Cable Information, nor will we disclose your Cable Information to any parties or for any purposes other than those described above unless we are required by law to do so.
Shentel keeps your Cable Information for as long as we provide services to you. You may arrange to inspect and, if there are errors, request correction of your Cable Information by calling 1-800-SHENTEL to schedule an appointment at our main office during regular business hours. If you prefer Shentel not disclose your name and address other than in connection with the services we provide you or as required by court order, you may opt-out by calling 1 -800-SHENTEL. Federal law limits government access to your Cable information and provides subscribers the right to enforce limits on disclosure of your Cable Information, pursuant to 47 USC 551(f) and (h).
