What does "Data Allowance" mean?

What happens if I exceed my data allowance?

Exceeding your data allowance will result in additional charges of $10 per 50 GB block of usage over the allowance. New customers may purchase our Unlimited Data option by adding any Internet package to the shopping cart and selecting Unlimited Data during checkout. Existing customers may purchase our Unlimited Data option by calling 1-800-SHENTEL.

I don't have a My Account login. How do I register my account?

Registering your account is quick and easy. You'll need your Shentel billing statement and the CPNI Security Password you created when you ordered your Shentel service. Can't remember yours? No problem- a quick call to 1-800-SHENTEL and you'll be registered in no time.
 

How will I know I am approaching my allowance?

You will receive multiple reminders as you get close to the maximum.
• Email notices  - at 85%, 95% and 100% of the allowance

• In browser messaging - an on-screen pop up will appear on your desktop browser when you reach 85%, 95% or 100% of your allowance

• Text reminder - Each email will give you the chance to sign up for a text reminder at 85%, 95% and 100% of your allowance. Or you can sign up by completing the form located here:

Will I be affected?

Customers should consider modifying usage, upgrading to a higher level of Shentel Internet service or purchasing our Unlimited Data option if Internet usage exceeds these allowances. Shentel only monitors data usage; we do not monitor content as that would be a violation of the Shentel privacy policy. Internet usage includes bandwidth consumed by internet and voice services. Customers may view their current and past Internet usage by logging in to myaccount.shentel.com and clicking the link on the left side of the page.
